Workshop notes

The Forge

A home for making: instruments, electronics, sound and the notes that make an experiment repeatable.

Explore the topics

An idea becomes more interesting when it meets a material, a measurement or another person. The Forge gives that encounter a place in Anachron.

Make the work legible

A useful workshop record begins with the question. It says what was assembled, which conditions mattered and what happened when the system was tried. Photographs, diagrams and code belong beside the account when they help someone understand or repeat the work.

A failed attempt can be valuable when its limits are described precisely. A promising result needs the same care.

From a bench to a shared practice

Electronics, recording, software and instruments meet here through a common approach: build a small part, observe it carefully, change one thing with a reason and retain enough of the trail to explain the next decision.

The first collection brings together ESP32 projects: audio instruments, board experiments and local sensing. OOB remains a related experiment in tools and execution paths.

What a project record should contain

Future build records will use a consistent set of questions.

  • What are we trying to understand or make?
  • Which parts, sources and versions were used?
  • What was measured or directly observed?
  • What remains uncertain?
  • What is the next useful experiment?
