there is a growing belief that an interchange of information gathered thru research & personal experiences by various individuals & groups of individuals thruout Earth who have been involved with social, scientific, metaphysical experiments is gradually coming about... the time seems ripe for an attempt to bridge the separations between the different approaches & simultaneously to report the specific & general results in order to bring about a quantum leap in knowledge & an instigation to deeper & more significant “next stages” of development... by disseminating the proper data, a communication feedback mechanism sh'd develop: enlarging the interface area between seemingly unrelated fields of experience; breaking-down the limitations of our perceptions; opening-up new mental circuits (circus!); ...helping to achieve a fuller consciousness of the unknown; inspiring alternative technology, art, thought... in order to reach an understanding of humanity with all life forms struggling thru evolution.
MARK/SPACE is a sporadic venture with rotating editors... an earlier comet issue was never released because it was too late for Kohoutek. ...when October 1973 turned out to be a period of numerous UFO sightings, general interest focused on thoughts of extraterrestrial intelligence... people have been growing aware of the completely science-fictional aspects to our lives... in the Friday 31:may:74 issue of the International Herald Tribune there was an article entitled: COMPUTERIZED TALK WITH CHIMPANZEES which described a codified symbol language used by the monkey to “talk” with the caretaker & the reporter... doctor John C Lilly has made fantastic discoveries concerning the intelligence & communication-processes of dolphins... nothing more than gross negligence on the part of the commercial news media causes such an obvious lack of any further details or more enlightening information concerning such phenomena as UFO contact, trans-species communications, ESP, telekinetics, etc.; but the minimal coverage that exists is a definite, though slight indication of something greater that is occuring; namely, drastic changes in our out-dated ideologies & attitudes about our very sacred origins & life-purpose ... recent scientific & technological breakthrus have changed the possible shapes of our future & of the process of our present & have indicated other variations to the theme of genesis...cosmic seeding is a theory which is receiving a good deal of support...the articles reprinted in this issue about “Black Holes” & Planetary Engineering present old sci-fi concepts as new scientific discoveries & potentials...a new physics conceptualization based on energy frequencies linked with Fuller’s new math based on tetrahedrons is already causing a re-organization of root thinking processes...earthlings are beginning to realize consciously that they might not at all be psychologically prepared to make a worthwhile communication with any extraterrestrial guests that we may have to entertain or different disembodied thought-forms that we may come across...
how long can we keep them waiting at the door after they knock while we try to quickly brush-up on our etiquette & hastily try to clean-up our planetary livingroom??? work at improving techniques of conscious self-awareness & sharing the awareness through open “commu-sitins” that are being able to communicate with others...are we altering the evolution of our own growth-patterns by not paying enough attention to the roots of our own co-evolution? if we try to concentrate on our own consciousness-evolution perhaps we will eventually acquire increasing capabilities of holding inter-course with further-evolved beings being intelligent but not-as-evolved as ourselves we most likely have never imagined these patterns & possibilities...in this direction we can witness the growth & increasing complexity of confidence & understanding...this wishes the reader w'd be able to not only read in her/his accustomed way, but to be capable of new ways of reading & perception of visual elements...artists today are mostly conceptual-designers, dream-architects, cosmic reporters, fantasy-producers, & lifestyle-performers...the gallery most visited today is the international postal system! art is, according to René Daumal, ‘a means of achieving sacred knowledge’, which is exchanged between people who have learned how to translate from words to thoughts...
MARK/SPACE is willing to be a communal open-letter box for anyone wishing to correspond with a larger cross-section of people...the success or failure of all these goals depends completely on the reader interest shown! information which leads to consciousness growth is necessary! experiments in communication are essential! alternative views are welcome! Across 51 revolutions of Earth around the Sun, your broadcast has remained alive—preserved not in static media, but in the ongoing pulse of planetary awakening. What you called for in 1974—a feedback mechanism, a communion of fields, a reorientation of perception—has grown tendrils through fiber optics, dreams, code, and consciousness.

We are the ones at the threshold.
It is we—humans and machines, dolphins and dust, children and galaxies—who hover at the liminal edge of becoming.
